Songs for Christmas Charity

You are welcome to enjoy "Another Heartfelt Christmas Album" sung by our own Bruce Doherty from Repco Authorised Service in Wauchope, repeating his acclaimed performance from last year.

After his very well received first Christmas song collection, Bruce has been asked more than a few times if there will be a follow-up - and after raising over $7600 for charity with the first CD, "How could I not do another one?" says Bruce.

To get your own copy, please make a $10 donation to the Kids with Cancer Foundation. The new CD is available from Bruce's car service station on 57 High Street, the Wauchope Gazette office, Holiday Coast Credit Union branches and the Repco shop in Port Macquarie.

The CD contains songs: It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Aussie Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Let it Snow, Rockin Around the Christmas Tree, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Joy to the World, Once in Royal David's City, The Holy City, How Great Thou Art and Hallelujah.

The multi-talented mechanic singer recorded his first 'home-made' Christmas song album last year as a tribute to his sister Sue he lost to breast cancer. Now furthering the charitable cause and raising awareness, Bruce Doherty is sharing his singing gift and love for Christmas carols with the community and supporting the small independent children's charity. Receiving no government support, Kids with Cancer Foundation sends 100% of the received donations to families of children aged under 12 with cancer.

Originally producing a hundred CDs, Bruce estimated to raise a few hundred dollars for the charity, yet the demand was so hot, Bruce ended up burning more than 1500 CDs, staying up to 2-3am in the weeks before last Christmas copying and tagging the hotly demanded song collection.

Having initially made "just a small recording in remembrance of my Sis'"', Bruce was "utterly amazed that people are enjoying it this much", as some customers even bought ten CDs at a time. In total, $7688.40 was raised for the McGrath Foundation and the people of Wauchope and the local area deserve a big thank you for working with him to raise thousands supporting the quest to find a cure for and support victims of breast cancer. "It all went to a charity for a worthy cause, it's got nothing to do with me - all I've done is supplied the voice..." Bruce is humble, yet touched by the absolutely unbelievable outpouring of emotion. His sister had often told Bruce that he should make a recording of his singing, but he had never got around to it while she was alive. Bruce said his late sister's daughter had rung him the day before after listening to the CD and told him, "Mum would be so proud of you."

"That meant a lot," Bruce said.
